Our MissionThe mission of Ogbaru USA Association, Inc. is to galvanize and unify all the Ogbaruans in New Jersey and New York, with the sole purpose of promoting and maintaining Ogbaru cultural values, traditions, pride and dignity. We aspire to have a proactive organization that will be dedicated to raising awareness of the needs of Ogbaru and Ogbaruans at home and in the Diaspora, through a concerted effort and interfacing with Ogbaru leaders, Representatives and Associations. While we promote socialization and cordiality among Ogbaruans, we strive to create a dynamic work atmosphere and being a small entity, endeavor to function as dedicated cohesive team focused on vital issues related to objective.
Our Objectives
What We Do We established the Ogbaru Home Page in 2000, the first dedicated to Ogbaru We monitor social, political, economic and cultural development in Ogbaru; We set up forums to debate and analyze challenges facing Ogbaru; We strive to provide informed, object and constructive inputs and solution to issues; We disseminate information concerning Ogbaru, Ogbaruans and related issues; We interface with Ogbaru Development Association on critical Ogbaru issues; We undertake fundraising for the benefit of Ogbaru people and institutions; We encourage transferability of models and good practices to Ogbaru; We assist Ogbaru institutions and peoples through our financial donations; and We offer charitable assistance to institutions and the needy in our host country. Our Ideas For Ogbarus’s Future We believe that for Ogbaru to develop, Ogbaruans must assume responsibility of their own destiny and progress; We believe that such a role requires institutional and cultural adaptation and a shift away from regressive leadership norms and approaches; We believe that Ogbaruans must combine local level activism, social rights, citizen participation in its development, educational, economic, political, social, cultural and anti-poverty strategies; and We believe in that Ogbaru’s strength will always rest on the diversity of its people and ideas and their respect for the rule of law, propriety and constituted authority.
