Dr. Ofunne Omo Obaze Dear Dr. Obaze: Thank you for the gift of $100 to Memorial Sloan-Kettering cancer center. This gift will be used to support the molecular Genetics Research Program. By choosing to make this contribution, you have become an important part of the Center’s research, patient care and education programs – a part of our control and cancer cure. Your gift helps to support new and exciting research initiatives aimed at advancing our knowledge of cancer. This knowledge is quickly translated into the best possible measure for the prevention and treatment of cancer. Treatment strategies developed at MSK often become the standard of care throughout the country. In fact, the support provided by our donors has allowed us to make enormous progress in the last several years in the fight against breast cancer, acute lymphoblastic leukemia, Hodgkin’s disease and other forms of cancer. The generosity of people like you makes the difference between standing in place and moving forward. The coming years offer much hope. Dynamic research is going on and important new discoveries are being made. Advanced techniques are now in use to study the fundamental activities of genes and cells. This research will almost certainly lead to a clear definition of what occurs to turn a cell from normal function to malignancy.
I am personally
encouraged by the progress that science has made, and will continue to
make, in the fight against cancer. Because of Memorial Sloan-Kettering
Cancer center’s leadership we can and will develop approaches to the early
detection and even the prevention f certain forms of cancer, and produce
an entirely new range of cancer therapies.
Sincerely, <sgd.> Richard K NaunVice President, development
