Events at the Motherland in recent times are worth telling the world about, given our situation. It is always said in this part of the world that if you praise people for doing something good no matter how small, it would galvanize them into greater activity or philantrophy. What we have just witnessed, was not, by any stretch of the imagination small things. They were and would always remain the fulcrum of a sustainable empowerment process for any nation.

One of our daughters, Princess Stella Adaeze Oduah, and one of our sons             Mr. Joseph Ndubueze Odunze, blazed the trail in April 2003 by doing something about the welfare of our children with a view to educational development in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State of Nigeria.

Princess Oduah instituted Educational Foundation in memory of her late father, HRH, Igwe Dennis Oduah, the former Traditional Ruler of Akili Ozizor through her Company, the Sea Petroleum & Gas Company Limited, gave 33 (thirty-three) scholarships, on April 5, 2003, to children drawn from the fifteen communities of core Ogbaru.  Beneficiaries of the maiden award cut across Primary, Secondary and tertiary levels. It was the first of its kind on this scale in Ogbaru Local Government Area by an individual.

Princess Stella Oduah is the Chief Executive of the Sea Petroleum and Gas Company Limited. The scholarship scheme is not the first philanthropy shown by this epitome of a daughter. Stella single-handedly built a gigantic church at her hometown, and donated same, among other things to her community. Furthermore, Princess Stella has given lease of life to so many people globally. This information is to let her know how much we love her, and appreciate all that she is doing for mankind.

Another good thing that happened, same April 2003, was a donation of 150 (one hundred and fifty) 2-seater desks and forms among other things to Four schools in two select communities (Atani and Ohita) by, and through the instrumentality of, our valued son in the person of Joseph Ndubueze Odunze. Joseph is domiciled in Washington DC, U.S.A. He is an active member of the Nigerian Friendship Association based also in Washington DC, USA. The Association goes about doing good and giving hope and succor to Communities in Nigeria through, and in collaboration with their valued members. We want to thank Joseph Ndubueze Odunze for remembering home in this singular way, and the Nigerian Friendship Association, Washington DC, USA, on behalf of the entire fifteen communities of core Ogbaru for extending a hand of friendship to a largely marginalized people of Ogbaru Clan.

Ogbaru Development Association (O.D.A. – Nigeria, the supreme council of all the Ogbaru mainland and those in the Diaspora) can not be grateful enough to all those who remember our motherland kindly. In the words of Hon. Ojiiba Okwudili Uzoka (member, National House of Assembly – representing Ogbaru Federal Constituency, in his address to the Ogbaru National Association, USA, for instance, and we quote:

“There is so much to be done and in my opinion very little on the ground..
There are millions of tons of obsolete items in the USA awaiting
Whoever should ask for them. These items though tagged “obsolete”
Are by Ogbaru standard, Millennium-3001 compliant materials.
These items include those on – Education, Agriculture, Communication, Engineering, etc Can we arrange for some of these to…Ogbaru”

We wish you, dear reader, continual good health and increasing prosperity, as you move to identify with our cause. For more on Ogbaru, visit our website at
