KIDZ IN SPORTS I am the oldest of the Nwafili children Ijeoma (Gayle), Uchenna (JoAnn), Chinnedu (Frankie) and Ego (Jennifer). I am 16, Uchenna 14, Chinedu 6 and Ego 4. My lovely parents are Ike and Nkechi Nwafili. I am a junior in High School. My favorite subjects are Math and Chemistry. My career interests are Medicine (Pediatrician) or Physical Therapist. Working with people has always been a special interest to me. I will like to share my experience as a High School sports player "Basketball" with my fellow Ogbaru friends. Playing sports is very demanding, expensive and time consuming. The most difficult part of sporting activities is balancing school work with practices and games. Also difficult to keep up with are your social life and chores. As the captain of my High School Basketball team, time management is the key. It is extremely important that you plan and manage your time very well from the start. Always know your priority "Education". If you have that under control, everything else will go smoothly. Sports is not just having fun. You can build a career as a sports player. However, injury can also end your dream which is why a degree can always give you a chance in another career. As they say, "Do not put all your eggs in one Basket". The demand is not just on the kids but also on parents who spend money and countless time on road. Hats Off To my parents Ike and Nkechi. They have been almost every where because of me and my sister Uchenna who plays Basketball too. The most important thing to remember is to work hard in any career path you want to pursue, set your goals and go for your dream. Parents, please support your children in going after their dreams. Remember to have fun!!! I love Basketball. WNBA here I come. Please click here Profile to see a profile about me on the Star Ledger.
