Our Antecedents: DUNONÒ FURINITURE INDUSTRY LIMITED is a built on the vision and dreams of its Chairman and Chief Executive, Mr. David Chukwuemeka Egonu, who is ably supported by a dedicated team of professionals. DunonÒ Furniture Industry Limited was incorporated as a Limited Liability Company on 8 May 1972. It officially opened for business two months later at its temporary factory with staff strength of 7. The company's commitment to the provision of modern designs, exquisite and durable pieces of furniture made it a house hold name in the then East central State of Nigeria, a reputation that soon spread to other parts of the country and internationally. Alongside, the company pursued a deliberate policy of reinvesting its profit as a means of expanding its capacity and wherewithal -a decision that paid off in a steady growth. This policy also enhanced the Company's ability to execute its aspiration to construct a permanent site: an all-purpose built furniture factory situated on a land area of 2129 sq. meters. The structure house the administrative wing and production plant fully equipped with a state of the arts wood working and technological machinery. As a leading indigenous entrepreneur in its field, DUNONÒ FURINITURE INDUSTRY LIMITED strives to be proactive in spearheading occupational safety and welfare. It therefore has in place, adequate provision for the welfare of its staff, which continues to grow, and currently stands at 86 members. Our Clientele Profile: Our clientele base is broad and varied and includes individuals and organizations. Our most committed patrons are individuals whose homes we are proud to have been invited to grace with our products over nearly three decades. They are our best referees and their loyalty and abiding faith in our product s are values we hold very dear and consider eloquent testimonies to our commitment, competence and leadership in our industry of choice. Our institutional clients Include but are not limited to: Central Bank of Nigeria, Enugu State Government House, Erricsson (Nig.), Nigerian Insurance Deposit Corporation, Union Bank of Nigeria Plc. Metropolitan Hotel, Benue State Government House, University of Nigeria Nsukka, and the Nigerian Television Authority. Some of our furniture has found their way to Europe -- well beyond the boundaries of Nigeria and the frontiers of continental Africa! Our Executive & Technical Profile: David C. Egonu (Chairman and Managing Director): -- A Wood Technologist trained in the United Kingdom, Germany and Israel. He is also a Furniture and Interior Designer. Ngozi U. Egonu (Executive Director Administration): -- An MBA degree holder from the University of Nigeria Nsukka. She is also an Interior Designer. Emeka U. Egonu (Executive Director, Production): -- A Wood Technologist and graduate of the London College of Furniture. He gathered varied and wide-ranging experience from several furniture manufacturing companies in England before joining the Company in 1991. Michael Ozoalor (Production Manager): -- Has been with the Company since 1974 He trained with the top-notch Wilhelem Jantzen GMBH of Germany under a service arrangement for apprentice technicians. He has oversight for production matters and a wide-ranging experience in different facets of furniture manufacturing. Joe A. Egonu (Factory Engineer): -- A product of Yaba Technical Institute, Lagos. He had a diverse engineering background and a wide working experience with institutions such as the University College, Ibadan, Nigeria Broadcasting Corporation and Anambra Broadcasting Corporation before joining the Company in 1984. C. Okpala (Sales Manager): -- Holds a City and Guilds diploma in Marketing and had worked for ten years with A.G. Leventis Limited before joining the Company in 1978. |
