The National Flag is an important symbol of a country. It represents the
union of the people and is a particularly significant rallying point for
an immigrant community. Nigeria's Green and White symbolize peace and
agriculture, an indication of the Nigerian aspiration to find peace and
self-sufficiency.

Nigeria is the most populous and arguably the most important black nation
in the world. The country has had a checkered history, one full of
challenges ? but Nigeria is slowly rising from the ashes of the past to
take on a new existence.
