The OGBARU USA
ASSOCIATION (NJ/NY CHAPTER) recently donated the sum of
half a million naira (N500,000.000) to religious, educational and
socila welfare institutions in the Ogbaru Local Government Area
of Anambra Stateof Nigeria.
The targeted donations
were made though the Songhai Charities, Inc., a New Jersey based
charity outfil. The President of the Ogbaru USA
Association, Inc, Mrs. Nkechi Nwafili and the Teasurer, Dr.
Ofunne Obaze respectively presented the checks for N100,000.00
to the representatives of the various institutions between 9 and
12 August, 2001. The amounts are to be used for
church run social welfare programs and building of new churches.
