I am that which I am
not of choice

but of God's infinite wisdom
and to wit, my color, language and culture
my entire being

I am that which I am
no apologies served
even though a change I may elect,
but whence to, and for what purpose
must I mutate from that which is preordained?
so be it then, my antecedents, my origin

I am that which I am
onye Igbo Chukwu kelu
a true son-of-the-soil, left and right
the burdens of my origin like my negritude
I must endure, and its joys and grace cherish
for all said and done, for good or bad
I am proud, that I am that which I am
I am an Igbo Man.
